This highly collaborative process is seeking input from a broad and diverse range of people, with a special focus to reach target groups like youth and young adults, recent immigrants, and people with disabilities. Our team is working closely with the Township and its Social Sustainability Task Force to engage the community through a series of surveys, community workshops, citizen-led dialogues, youth engagement in local schools, and pop up outreach throughout the Township. We are currently planning a ‘social innovation lab’ to dive deeper into solutions for community connectedness.
Community and stakeholder input will be combined with our team’s best practice research and analysis of current and future needs to develop recommendations for key topics including: children and youth well-being; diversity and inclusion; housing; community engagement and connectedness; community safety; and health and wellness, among others.
